This is a collaborative project with the Division of Medical Dietetics and Health Sciences, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, OSU College of Medicine. The project examines the appropriateness and effects of Survivor Care Plans on older breast cancer survivors’ outcomes from the perspectives of the patients, their oncologists, and their physicians through web-based surveys and semi-structured interviews.
Conclusions drawn from the survey and interview data will be presented using interactive data visualization techniques that involve a combination of text and statistical graphics and diagrams. Proper visual graphic representations will be selected to seek and identify patterns of interests as well as issues regarding cancer survivorship care plans. The visualizaiton solutions intend to help researchers identify different personas with shared or unique pain points based on the data-driven visualization for future explorations of seeking better communication for older breast cancer survivors and their healthcare providers.
